As already mentioned, Scout24 plans to relocate in Munich in the first quarter of 2018. The new office complex Leuchtenbergring Office in Munich’s district Haidhausen will be the new home for 500+ Scouts. We talked to Edith Albert-Denifl, who is Head of Central Administration & Facility Management and the key person behind this project, about the concept, the challenges and why it’s more than just a relocation.
1. Edith, what’s the status quo of the project and what will be the next milestones?
Edith: The building is under construction. The facade is now closed therefore the internal fitout and fixtures are ongoing. We are presently tendering several interior design elements and furnitures. Our permanent project management ensures that the contractual terms and conditions are met in time, quality and budget. Last week and this week we had a lot of Munich colleagues and the ELT visiting the building site. Soon we will start to set up the relocation management.
2.What have been the biggest challenges so far and how did you and the team solve them?
Edith: The biggest challenge was the location/office selection and negotiation process due to very lean time lines. But thanks to our great team supported by external consultants we did manage to achieve really good results in regards to qualities and budget. Now we have to ensure that our requirements are met by the landlord´s planners.
3. How does Scout24’s new home in Munich differ from the old one?
Edith: Scout24’s new home will in no way, shape or form, be comparable to our current office in the TenTowers. The new office will cater all current needs and future requirements in best way, especially regarding seamless communications. It will be a truly inspiring working environment.
4. So it’s not just a relocation but a totally new concept for the workplace?
Edith: Yes, the new office will not only look different, but we will also have a new office concept, which will fit far better to our „ways of working“ and processes. The concept is called „activity-based-working.” That means that different work styles and tasks will be supported by various working environments, from classical workplaces to open communication and collaboration areas (formal + informal, various sizes) equipped by state-of-the-art ICT (information and communication technology).
5. Can you let us know when we will move to Leuchtenbergring Office?
Edith: In March 2018 – let’s keep our fingers crossed!
6. Please use three adjectives to describe Scout24’s new home in Munich?
Edith: Agile, communicative and inspiring.
Our Scouts already had the opportunity to take part in the building site tour. Here is a sneak peek:
